What is Bioremediation?

Webster defines bioremediation as 'the treatment of pollutants or waste (as in an oil spill, contaminated ground water, or industrial process) by the use of micro-organisms (as bacteria) that break down the undesirable substances'. Environmental Biotech has dedicated hundreds of thousands of pounds to isolating and training various strains of bacteria. These bacteria specialise in bioremediating the grease and oil (lipid), sugar, starch and gelatine produced by commercial establishments.

All research and development, production, blending and packaging is undertaken exclusively in our laboratories by Environmental Biotech employees. Environmental Biotech is completely vertically integrated and works exclusively through the Environmental Biotech network.

What is the Problem?

It is estimated that grease and oil (lipid), sugar, starch and gelatine causes between 40 and 70 per cent of all drain line problems and many of the odour problems. These problems cost businesses and the government millions of pounds each year and are a major source of headaches. The safe and proper disposal of grease, sugar, starch, and gelatine accumulations has become a major concern for commercial establishments, industry and municipal sectors.
